Could some one tell me what to clean my LWRC M6A2 with and what spray paint is best to camouflage it with. I have an ACOG w/red dot, attached to it. All around info on this would be awesome.

Tiger McKee has an article on this very topic in the Spring 2009 issue of Tactical Gear, which (since you're a member of this site) you can download for FREE (in PDF format) in the Members Only section. You can see the Members Only tab at the top when logged in.

The article is on page 32, Blending In.

If you are familiar with the Brownells Company check out their catalog, if not get one of their catalogs. They have a variety of paint products both bake on and air dry with one that will do the job for you. I like thier bake on products for the metal parts and the Alumni-Hyde for the stock and other composite parts. They also have a great tech support that can guide you in the right direction. Their powder coats that I have used have over time proven to be tough and me proof. They also have cleaners to use before coating. Thier number is 1 800 741-0015.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the information, I will order a catalog from Brownells. Just on more question. I heard that painting the weapon brings down the value of the gun. If this is so, how much will it effect the value?

  Thanks,
Michael
Hello Corey,
Thanks for the advice. I pulled up the spring issue and read the article, It's good stuff.

Michael
I suppose it could affect the value of the gun unless you are selling it to someone that wants it camoed. I think after a lot of hard use the wear that shows on the gun would affect the value but you can always bring it back by repowder coating it to original colors. It would look new and be the way it was, or real close anyway. In todays political air I find it hard to cut loose of an AR anyway.
Dave,
You make an excellent point. The AR will have plenty of wear and tear from constant use. I didn't buy this LWRC to look at it.

Michael
If your looking for a "winter/snow" pattern, try wrapping white sportape around your AR. Cheap, comes off leaving no residue.
