Hi, it amazes me that America can go from having a president as Dwight Eisenhower to Obama. I see a change in our nations society that is way off track. Take alook at our system of education! In todays school rooms students are being told that guns are bad news and the school's "no tolerance" policy is way over board when a fourth grader get suspended for bringing a Nerf Ball gun to school. I remember in second grade some of us would bring live bullets to school for show and tell. Cap guns were always out on the play grounds as we played good and bad guy games yet today I see a school administration that has lost they're sense of reality. Our media is so out in left field that anyone who owns a gun is the bad guy. When I was young I would say just about every parent had a gun for sport or self defense. I always felt there was something good about this and had heard about occasions where a crime was stopped in its tracks due to gun ownership. The biggest honor to me when I was a young boy was serving in the military which I did right after graduating high school. Today I see to many people who want someone else to do the hard work. I don't see many young high school graduates serving they're country. Everytime I turn on the t.v. there is some idiot expressing his belief that guns are just bad news. What really bothers me is we now have a government that is so corrupt that they've bankrupted our country and are now looking at ways to take away from the citizens to fix the mess our government has made. We can't even fight a war these days with any plan to win. I see some of the worst times our country has ever experienced coming down the road soon. I hope that there are more people who are prepared to deal with what lies ahead than not but I feel thats just wishful thinking on my part. I still see and hear most people concerned with what color to paint they're bathroom wall than how to start taking control back of our country as implied in our constitution and bill of rights. What in the hell has happened to this current generation of ours.

Lin, you hit the nail on the head when you describe the public education system and how it beats to death political correctness.  We now live in a world where our schools teach children that no one fails and they get as many tries as they want to pass a test.  In sports there is no loosing team.  If you so much as draw a gun or gesture one with your hands your are suspended and forced into therapy.

Children need to realize that life is not a fairy tale and it's going to be great for some and suck for others.  Their going to win AND loose in life and with out loss they'll never know how to deal with it.

I'd say it's amazing that more parents are home schooling or sending their kids to private schools but then I remember that many (not all) parents could really care less about what their kids are learning and are out of their hair for the day.

Although the liberals have been dumbing our kids down and promoting mediocrity, popular music, commercials, films and the media all have pink on their hands. Music, for example, in Eisenhower's time was innocent. Sure it dealt with falling in love and crushes and all of young people dating. However, it did not talk about "booty shaking" "Tapping dat" dancing on tables, "Hittin' it and quitten it." or any of the other x-rated crap we hear in modern pop music. T.V. shows back in the 50's and early 60's showed the romantic side of love and courtship and the rest was rightly left to the imagination. Now we have adultry on TV, we have single parents, drug dealing, abortion, murder and any twisted fable Hollywood wants to pitch at us and our kids. Now in California, kids in elementary school are taught about the gay lifestyle. I can imagine the uproar over teaching first-graders about hetrosexual sex. I have notihing against gays or lesbians. But decency expects that to stay in the bedroom just as any sex should be especially aroung children who lack the emotional maturity to cope with such issues. All of this is part of the Secular Socialist goal of running our lives from cradle to grave; making everyone a ward of the state. Well, in the words of Dylan Thomas, "I will not go quietly into that good night" or should I say nightmare?

Craig I agree with you. I remember the shows of my younger days when they were funny and made you laugh. Today I can't turn on  the t.v. without seeing a mutilated body or someone being murdered in some fashion. This is today's standards due to lack of talent. Whatever happened to the shows like "Green Acres" and others of that time that made you feel good. I see a society of fake tough guys and idiots that are a far cry from what I remember. Like you I will not go quietly into the night!

I am a disabled veteran with old school standards and values that will not take any of this liberal crap from anyone. We need to bring back the values and standards of our grandfathers generation.

There are enough of us that we can make a difference. We can use the liberals tactics against them. Boycott Hollywood and their talentless, formulaic movies, Don't see remakes. Get your friends to do the same. We are the majority. Nixon called us the "silent majority" but we are silent no more. They don't have anything over us. I'm a practicing attorney, a singer a songwriter, a guitar player and a poet. Oh and I'm an NRA-certified pistol instructor and a former prosecutor. The left thinks we are a bunch of knuckledraggers. They think a university degree makes a person superior. I have two and I still put my Wranglers on one leg at a time. I'd rather hang out with a machinist or a Vietnam vet than any university professor. In fact I do. Unlike the loony left, I appreciate the brave Americans who defend this country and police our streets. What I'm sick of is finger-pointing politicians and Democrats who are actually Socialists. We are America and we will not lie down and let Islamists or Socialists to take over this country. I have 762 reasons why that won't happen. If you get my drift.

I absolutely get your drift as I am in the same boat. I just read that the Muslim community refuses to build their mosque anywhere else and that they plan to go ahead with the plan to build it on ground zero. This is what your cowardly Bloomberg types allow. These are people who never put themselves in harms way for anyone nor for their country. I pray that the silent majority rises up and takes government and the left out for good and replaces them with true Americans who respect our country and those who protect it and those who have died for it. Like you I am sick of the politicians and Democrats who have no regard for the foundations of our country. I once said I would die fighting for my country and I say it again as I see the enemy within.
