Bob, After reading your email I can only offer this. Here is Wisconsin, judges and the AG have ruled that the mere act of carrying a gun does not make a person guilty of disorderly conduct... You need to check Florida law carefully, because I don't know it. But, if the only reason the officer gave you is that the gun offends people, well, that is typically not enough of a reason... you might be the test case.
