Video of Clay Duke School Board Shooting: See How Fast It Happens
One of the common threads running through nearly all of the armed defense stories I post in this blog is how quickly attacks unfold. "I can't believe how fast it happened," say many victims of violent crimes.
Watch this video of Clay Duke, a 56-year-old gunman who opened fire on school board members to protest his wife being fired and his unemployment benefits running out.
Note the first reaction of school board members who slide their chairs back, but then freeze. Even then note how Duke raises his handgun at the school board member and we hear the intended victim say, "No, please don't do that" right before the trigger is pulled.
Fortunately, the shooter missed, but this serves as a graphic reminder that time is not a luxury when confronting someone intent on violence. There is no time to think about getting a handgun to carry, or to contemplate holsters and ammo.You either have the gear and the mindset to go along with it or you don't.

The link may not work here, but folks wanting to see the video, go to Utube site.. do search for 'Clay Duke School Board Shooting' and it will bring up several video clips of the event. Glad no one was injured except the BG with the gun. TV announcers talk about getting your children from the room or graphic clip to come, obviously haven't seen video games our children are watching... H_ _ _ of a rating system there. davzway

First post is exactly on target... when someone pulls a gun or like here has a gun already out and is talking about using the gun.. there are NO negotiations,, the time for talking is DONE ... this BG could have shot down five people before you can count to five, long before security... drawing a concealed weapon is TWO seconds behind the BG even when alert to your surroundings... when it's already in BG hand.. need some luck,,,, folks on School Board had it.... may have been suicide by cop being played out.. Remember old FBI statistics: 75% of shootings, occur within 2.5 seconds, opponents are 21' apart, 1.8 shots are fired and it is over and done with. davzway
